Students are able to unleash their creativity, learn how to convey information more dynamically, and enhance the learning process.<\/h5>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; text_font=&#8221;Athiti||||||||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0AI Disclaimer<\/h2>\n<h5 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To ensure that projects reflect students&#8217; own creativity and effort, participants in the Pennsylvania Media and Design Competition must adhere to an 80% human, 20% AI rule. Students should document and clearly report how AI tools were utilized in their work to maintain transparency and align with competition guidelines.<\/h5>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_3,2_3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;35px|0px|27px|0px|false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Eligibility&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Eligibility&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Participation is open to any student enrolled:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In grades 6 &#8211; 12<\/li>\n<li>In a public or private middle or high school<\/li>\n<li>In a state-approved home-school program<\/li>\n<li>Within the geographic boundaries served by a sponsoring intermediate unit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participant selection process:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Local competition and\/or selection process&#8211; Local middle and high schools will be responsible for selecting the students who will advance to regionals.<\/li>\n<li>All projects must be new or significantly changed over previous year entries. The narrative description must describe the enhancements to a project that was previously entered.<\/li>\n<li>Regional competition&#8211; Each intermediate unit will designate the number of projects eligible for regionals.<\/li>\n<li>State competition &#8211; held annually in May at<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dickinson.edu\/\">Dickinson College<\/a>,<\/strong> Carlisle, PA. There will be no entrance fee charged to either the school district or student to participate in the state competition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;2_3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Copyright Requirements&#8221; admin_label=&#8221;Copyright&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.3&#8243; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>The PA Media and Design Competition, although educational, removes the student work from the classroom and therefore requires the student to get permission from the owner to use any copyrighted music, video, graphics, etc. Fair use does NOT apply. Remember to credit music or items that were created by yourself or friends as well.<\/p>\n<p><b>Display boards or other items that are included with, but not part of, the project may not contain copyrighted material. A student may submit an individual project and take part in a group project, however the projects cannot be in the same category. <strong>(This means a student can be involved in at most a total of two submissions in two different categories.)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Groups will be limited to three students.<\/li>\n<li>Cash prizes awarded to a group project will be split a maximum of three ways.<\/li>\n<li>A faculty advisor\/sponsor must be identified.
